One day I quit my job to rewire my life. It was the riskiest thing I have ever done. I felt myself stuck in Type-A mode, climbing the career ladder since Kindergarten, and I needed a reboot. I needed to understand what I wanted - from my career and everything else. I believed that if I made this adjustment for me and my family, everything else would be more simple.
Then all of a sudden, I had no goals. No clear finish line. No clearly defined win. This was unsettling for me. I quickly realized that changing my career alone wasn't going to change my whole life. From that day forward, I've had a completely different philosophy about staying curious, finding work, and discovering its role in the bigger picture. I'm excited that I can share what I've learned with new people every day.
So often, people come to me looking at work as a primary source of value or success. We both know there's so much more. When life and careers change as they continuously do, it creates a ripple effect across finances, relationships, health, and every other part of your life. So to create change, we have to look at all the aspects of life. That informs my approach and how I help anyone's career journey.
It's also why I love my job. I enjoy talking to people about how their careers and lives can be more fulfilling. It's fascinating to me how rewiring one's perspective on their career can open doors to new opportunities.
Opportunities are the beginnings of fascinating stories and I look forward to yours.
A bit more about me…
As a coach and consultant, I believe that we are all naturally creative, resourceful, and whole individuals. With over 20 years of experience focused on human behavior and the people driving organizations, today I coach and inspire students and leaders to unlock their natural strengths towards their own successful careers and passions. My specialties include executive coaching, leadership development, career transitions, and personal growth & development.
My experience spans business and management across a diverse set of functions and organizations including nonprofit, finance, marketing, human resources, advertising, education, and travel. Throughout my career, I have always committed to (and loved) developing strategies and driving growth through building teams and the systems to support them.
With a continued focus on "people driving business," I have led both large and small teams through extensive change at companies such as Monster.com, The Home Depot, and EF Education First. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and my MBA from Babson College.
I also have a huge love and appreciation for the outdoors and can often be found on a mountain hiking or skiing, on a trail running, or immersed in fresh water swimming. The outdoors is my reset button, be it alone embracing a time for reflection, or playing with my husband and twin daughters to gather energy.
